Our Adoption Process

Angel City Pit Bulls has dogs that fall under the generic term 'pit bull' who demonstrate stable, fun, people-oriented, outgoing personalities - making them fantastic family dogs. We have a wide range of energy levels, so whether you are looking for a running partner or a potential “therapy dog”, we will typically have a dog that will fit the bill.

Our goal is to provide adopters with the best possible adopter-dog match and we will work with you to find a dog that is right for your situation. Most of the ACPB dogs live in multi-dog foster homes, and enjoy the company of other well-matched dogs and some even with well-matched cats. We are happy to assist with family pet introductions.

To get started, we will ask that you fill out our brief questionnaire below and we'll set up a meet and greet for the dog(s) you are interested in. When you are ready to move forward with the adoption, we will arrange a home delivery to help you get settled in with the newest member of your family. Resources, support, and education are always available, and you can expect an extensive level of knowledge and support from ACPB for the lifetime of your dog.

All dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, and crate trained prior to adoption. We ask for an adoption fee of $250 for dogs over 6 months old, and $350 for a puppy under 6 months old. This non-taxdeductible contribution assists us in continuing our mission to help more dogs in need. We serve the Los Angeles area and parts of Southern California. Regrettably, we do not have the resources to adopt out of state.

Geneva

Okay we'll address the elephant in the room. Geneva is not exactly a bully type dog. We'll let it slide this time. Geneva is an XXL good girl who's looking for a face to bestow her gentle yet... robust kisses upon. We hope you brought your bib.

Elvis

Put on your blue suede shoes and RUN, don't walk, to come meet Elvis. This hound dog just can't help falling for anyone who offers a cozy lap to snuggle in and a handful of pats for his blocky noggin. "Love me!" his eyes say as he gazes into yours, and we can only respond "yes!" We just can't help falling in love with such a sweet and affectionate guy.

Balue

Have you ever encountered a dog with soulful eyes? You have now. Darling Balue has cracked the code to transmitting love and affection through his gaze, and he would like to share his secrets with you!

Bumblelion

Bumblelion is ACPB's finest purveyor of soulful eyes and bumblebee costumes. He's like the dog version of sleeping in late on a Sunday, sipping coffee by the fire, and reading mystery novels in a cozy loveseat. If he had thumbs, he would definitely be into jigsaw puzzles.

Brandi

Recipe for Brandi - One million parts kisses, infinity parts zoom, unmeasured cuddles (add with your heart). Wiggle until combined.

The Baroness

You are in the presence of royalty! BEHOLD The Baroness.The Baroness allows her subjects to express their fealty via scritches, smooches, and caresses of her perfectly jowly face. She does a delightful version of "shake" that involves proffering her paw ever so gently. Truly like a royal addressing a devoted subject. Her love language is touch and she treats every day like Valentine's Day.

Bobby Socks

Look at this distinguished gentleman with his distinguished socks! According to his foster mom, Bobby Socks' would love to curl up by the fire on a fine leather chesterfield with smooth jazz playing on the record player and an old fashioned at the ready. With his favorite person of course. He loves to cuddle and spend quiet together moments with his people.Bobby Socks is working on his confidence (same) and looks to his people for reassurance that everything's okay. If you're looking for a BFF for the chill life of Netflix, naps, and small adventures, Bobby Socks might be the guy for you!

Dash

Special boy alert! Meet Dash. This sweet boy has specific medical needs stemming from his mostly non-functional hind legs, but he's certainly scooted into our hearts. Dash loves affection from his people and would be delighted to to accompany you to brunch in his special going out stroller. This is LA and we see dogs in buggies all the time but this time, it's warranted.Dash has been trained to zip around on a sweet set of wheels (yes, disabled dogs love walkies too!) and also uses a harness or sling during his rehab sessions.

Sapphire

Smiling, snuggling Sapphire is ready to bring her zen-like friendship and silly mojo to your home! Every morning, she begins the day with a ritual: she sits and presses herself into her foster mom’s chest, getting a long pet and a face massage, complete with piggy snorts and her chin on her FM’s shoulder. If you need a buddy for your morning mindfulness or coffee, Sapphire volunteers (but please don’t stop petting her!). Massages, snuggles, and pats are always welcome in Sapphire’s book, and she’s made a name for herself as “Best Hugger” once she gets to know you.

Peaky

Sunbeams, seasonal fruits, chairs for exactly 1 (her), and long walks on secluded beaches: these are a few of Peaky’s favorite things. She’s the perfect COVID companion--she strongly prefers 6 feet from strangers and likes to keep the houseguests to members of the pod. Shaking hands and kissing babies may not be her jam, but if you’re a Real One, Peaky’s happy to lounge the day away as your sophisticated sidekick. With time, she’ll start to dole out her patented Peaky Pecks (the teeniest kisses) and press herself next to you on the couch.
