Lola's family was referred to ACPB by an old co-worker of two of our foster and adoptive families. After a couple conversations, it was easy to ascertain that this was an ideal adoptive home for Vienna. They were familiar with crate training, were looking for a big dog, and had a lot of love, consistency, and patience to give to a new puppy.
Lulu Eliza (fka Eliza) has been adopted! Lulu's parents met her at the NKLA Adoption Weekend event. They already had an eight year old smaller dog, Stanley, and a senior cat, Omar, so their needs for the perfect match were quite specific. Lucky for them and Eliza, her mellow lounge-y attitude was just perfect.
Picabo's mom met and adopted her at the NKLA Adoption Weekend. When we took Picabo to her home at the end of the first day, her mom was waiting excitedly, and had rushed home from the La Brea Tar Pits to prepare a crate, food, and the house for Boo's arrival. Picabo's mom is very happy to have her in the family.
Mirabella has been adopted! Mirabella's new family met her at the NKLA Adoption Weekend, where they met ALL of our available dogs. They chose four of our dogs as potential matches for their family, and after more time and conversation, it became clear that Mira was the dog for them.
Daphne (fka Harper) has been adopted! Daphne's new dad had been looking at our website for a dog to adopt. He decided to come meet our dogs at the NKLA Adoption Weekend and chose Harper.
Herman's new family attended the NKLA Adoption Weekend with interest in adopting a dog. They met and fell for one of our dogs who was in the process of being adopted by another family. They were bummed, but fortunately for Austin and us, they were willing to meet our other dogs. We knew that they wanted a lover and a looker. So, we introduced them to the lovable - and handsome - Austin.
Chester has been adopted! Chester's family had been thinking about getting a dog for awhile. A couple of his dad's friends had visited the NKLA Pet Adoption Center. His gym is near the pet center, and one day he decided to go look at the dogs. He fell in love with Chester and had to have him!
Curtis has been adopted! Curtis' family filled out an adoption questionnaire with ACPB without any particular dog in mind, but just to have an application on file for when the right dog came along. They wanted a playmate for their very playful and high-energy dog. Originally they had an adult male in mind, but they agreed to a meet and greet with puppy Curtis, which was a success!
ACPB alum Hudson (fka Holden) was "Top Dog of the Day" at Wags&Wiggles daycare! He earned this award for playing, nicely, sharing his toys, following commands, and waiting patiently. His parents have proudly hung his award on the family fridge! Hudson was adopted by his foster family in September and clearly he is shining in his forever home.
Helena's new family reached out to ACPB earlier this year interested in volunteering with us. Shortly after, they joined us on a pack hike and there they first met Helena. Their volunteer interest turned into fostering interest, and we felt Helena would be a great match for their household. After Helena arrived, their fostering interest turned into adoption interest and Helena was officially the newest family member.
