“A smart cookie that’s willing to please--with treats, of course!” This is the review back from Joplin’s foster, who says that Joplin has learned the house routine and many new tricks and commands like an ace. Joplin loves a good head pat, and will lean her head back to give you her pittie-happy-face. Sunbathing and belly rubs are all good in her book, too.

Joplin has revealed herself to be a toy aficionado and loves to entertain herself by chewing, tugging, and sniffing. She’s curious about the world, though also benefits from support from her handler to make sure she doesn’t get in too deep too soon. As a member of the Texas Ten, Joplin is still getting used to being an Angeleno, but has an adventurous spirit and is ready to take on the world with a little bit of guidance.

Joplin is heartworm positive and is undergoing treatment. The good news is treatment is easy peasy for you as an adopter--it mostly involves keeping Joplin calm and low key, and making sure she arrives on time to a few key scheduled vet appointments. Though it will be an mandatory-extra-calm first few months together, afterward, the world is your oyster!

About 2 years old and 55 pounds, Joplin is crate-trained, house-trained, micro-chipped, up to date on routine vaccinations and knows her basic commands.
