Duke
Duke may have perma-puppy dog eyes, but we think he’s pretty happy these days! When he joined our program, he was a reserved gentleman who was figuring out his new life. Now that he’s had some time to settle in, he likes to show off his eager grin and happy tail wag when he realizes his favorite people are home.
Duke’s perfect day is a nice mix of chilling in his crate or on a comfy dog bed, mixed with bopping around the neighborhood or Griffith Park on a walk. He enjoys taking in the world around him outside the window or on his strolls. He even loves a good hang at the local coffee shop--it’s the perfect amount of being out and about, but also relaxing! Duke is an eager kitchen assistant--in fact, he recently realized his favorite holiday is Thanksgiving.
After a busy day of helping out with the cooking, he loved enjoying the fruits of his labors with tons of head pats from friends and family. And maybe a few scraps that fell off the table... So far, Duke has done well in our playgroups with chill dogs who can take things slow and give him space as he gains more confidence in the socializing department. We think he’d be perfectly happy to hold down your fort solo, but could also do well with another dog like we’ve described.
About 3 years old and 60 pounds, Duke is crate-trained, house-trained, micro-chipped, up to date on routine vaccinations and working on his basic commands.
