Danny is always happy to see you and always down for a cuddle--and when you get excited about something, he will, too. He’s just that kind of guy: a best friend, a personal cheerleader, and always ready to dole out a giant kiss when you tell him “I love you!” When you drive around town, you’ll often find his head on your shoulder, with an occasional kiss snuck in for good measure. Danny is happiest when it’s just him and his favorite people around, no distractions. He’s a big softie at heart.

Danny Boy is happy to entertain himself around the house by making himself your shadow, or following the best sunbeams around the house and yard. If you’d like, he’d be up for a training walk with some yummy snacks where you can continue teaching him to navigate some of the stressful parts of living in the city. He’s also happy to hop in the car to find a quiet adventure, like zen mornings on the beach with one of his best volunteer friends and a breakfast burrito, where he has become more relaxed with each trip. In his outings with his besties, he’s also learned that he’s a fan of french fries, but not so much hash browns...this guy clearly contains multitudes, so you’ll have to see what else is in store.

We think Danny Boy would be happiest in a house-with-yard type situation where he can lounge, roll around, and take outdoor naps (one of his past times), and not have to take on the world if he (and you) aren’t feeling like it each day. A family that doesn’t bring the party guests home is his preference. Danny Boy quite enjoys other dogs and would be happy to live with one. But he’d also be happy as your one and only!

About 5 years old and 80 pounds, Danny Boy is crate-trained, house-trained, micro-chipped, up to date on routine vaccinations and knows his basic commands.
