Our Adoption Process

Angel City Pit Bulls has dogs that fall under the generic term 'pit bull' who demonstrate stable, fun, people-oriented, outgoing personalities - making them fantastic family dogs. We have a wide range of energy levels, so whether you are looking for a running partner or a potential “therapy dog”, we will typically have a dog that will fit the bill.

Our goal is to provide adopters with the best possible adopter-dog match and we will work with you to find a dog that is right for your situation. Most of the ACPB dogs live in multi-dog foster homes, and enjoy the company of other well-matched dogs and some even with well-matched cats. We are happy to assist with family pet introductions.

To get started, we will ask that you fill out our brief questionnaire below and we'll set up a meet and greet for the dog(s) you are interested in. When you are ready to move forward with the adoption, we will arrange a home delivery to help you get settled in with the newest member of your family. Resources, support, and education are always available, and you can expect an extensive level of knowledge and support from ACPB for the lifetime of your dog.

All dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, and crate trained prior to adoption. We ask for an adoption donation of $250 for dogs over 6 months old, and $350 for a puppy under 6 months old. This non-taxdeductible contribution assists us in continuing our mission to help more dogs in need. We serve the Los Angeles area and parts of Southern California. Regrettably, we do not have the resources to adopt out of state.

For more info or to inquire about adoption, please fill out an Angel City Adoption Questionnaire or contact Shannon at adopt@angelcitypits.org

Redford will make you feel like the most special person in the world, every day. This boy falls hard and fast for his people--just ask his foster mom, who gets an excited, smiling greeting from Redford every day when she comes home from work.

Meet Daryl, the absolute shoe-in for the award we just made up: “Biggest Transformation of a Daryl.” When we first met him, he was scared of pretty much everything and didn’t know much about the world. Now, he likes getting up early to go on a hike, lounging around, and showing off his impressive “woof!”

Sarah joined us from the Carson shelter during the NKLA Super Adoption weekend. Though she’s still young, Sarah impressed us with her calm attitude toward the busy weekend, and spent most of her time getting loved on by volunteers. Once she’s at home, Sarah will show off her puppyish side and wants to have lots of fun! We think this sweet girl could go to a home with or without dogs.

Close your eyes and imagine yourself in the Italian countryside, listening to truffle-hunting pigs finding decadent toppings for your dinner. Open them, and reality is even better: It’s Lucille, doing her signature snort-and-waddle around the yard. This cute and silly girl joined us from the South LA shelter and is ready to win over her forever family with her hilarious noises and sweet smile.

Meet Nemo... He is the cutest little fish around! He is an affectionate, goofy guy who loves hanging out with his people. As much as he likes to snuggle and give kisses, Nemo likes to play. He loves goofing around with other dogs that have a rough and tumble play-style too.
