Ollie
Ollie
Ollie came to ACPB via the East Valley Shelter, where he was a staff favorite. He is a fun-loving, extremely affectionate little guy. When we first met Ollie we noticed his limited use of his back legs, and that he essentially hopped around like a bunny. After many tests and time elapsed, we learned that he has a form of canine dwarfism and was likely born with a spine malformation, which can render it challenging for him to perform routine movements. This certainly hasn't hampered his spirits, however - Ollie happily attends his exercise sessions and acupuncture appointments, and is making remarkable progress already. He is well on his way to gaining more strength and mobility.
Although Ollie may not go for long walks or hikes, he can still accompany any active person in his stroller! He may not be able to jog along side of you, but he can definitely come with, and truly enjoys outdoor activities. In fact, he frequently goes on hikes and jogs with his foster mom and siblings.
Ollie is very social; he loves to play with other dogs as well as his toys, and even enjoys hanging out with cats. He is a very special little guy, and constantly exudes happiness. Though Ollie enjoys play time, he is also very mellow and makes a wonderful nap or movie-watching companion. He tires pretty easily, and does not require a lot of physical activity, in fact he would be perfectly content sunbathing on your patio, and does not necessarily need daily walks.
Ollie is about 1 year old, 33 pounds, house-trained, crate-trained, up to date on vaccinations, neutered and knows his basic manners.
