Linus
Linus is a lab/pit/shepherd mix we met while volunteering at the Baldwin Park Shelter and promptly took home. Linus is a sweet, smart and funny guy whose constant smile and obvious happiness can’t help but make those around him laugh. He loves to play with his toys, and takes great pleasure in showing his toys to his foster parents before collapsing on his bed for a good chew. When feeling more energetic, he loves to bat around his tennis ball, sending it shooting across the floor, pouncing in quick pursuit.
Though he loves to show off his playful side, Linus is very quick to calm down and listen to commands, and he enjoys the opportunity to relax on his bed with his bone, or sit in front of his foster parents for a good head scratch. Don’t let Linus’ big goofy grin fool you though, he is one smart pup! Within only a few days of moving in with his foster parents, he has already learned sit, lay down, stay, come, and shake, and he loves the opportunity to practice and show off his skills. His foster parents are continually impressed with how responsive Linus is to training.
Linus prefers to take it slowly with introductions to new people. Linus will need a quiet and patient home as he builds his confidence to explore and interact with new people. He is receiving socialization and enrichment in this area with his foster family.
